Are you a musician looking to be part of a volunteer organization who provides performance opportunities to brass and woodwind players in Oxford County? Our growing bands include over 40 members of all ages and skill levels who are dedicated to playing music together in an exciting and inclusive environment!
The Oxford Winds Community Concert Band is seeking a dynamic conductor for our novice band, the Oxford Breeze, in Woodstock, Ontario. This position will run from Spring 2024 to Spring 2026, with the option to extend a contract after two years. There will be a small annual honourarium payment for this position.
The successful candidate will run one-hour weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings (6:00-7:00 pm) for approximately 25 beginner musicians of all ages, and will select music for the group to rehearse and perform. The chosen candidate will also conduct the group for several evening performances from September to June each season, including two concerts for an audience of over 200 attendees.
- Knowledge of woodwind and brass instruments
- 2+ years conducting/teaching experience with novice woodwind/brass players preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong group management skills
- Experience working with a volunteer organization
- Connection to the Oxford County area and community an asset

Advance tickets are $10 – $15 at the door with children under twelve free.

Our summer hiatus is nearly finished, and registration is now open for our 2023-2024 season! We’re looking for brass, woodwind, and percussion musicians of all ages and skill levels to join the Oxford Winds Community Concert Band for weekly in-person rehearsals. Rehearsals are held each Thursday evening starting September 21st in Woodstock – but we welcome members from anywhere in Oxford County and beyond.
To register, complete this form and send it, along with your registration fee, to email@example.com by September 17, 2023. We’ll confirm your registration and provide the rehearsal location details prior to September 21st.

We will be hosting our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, July 27th at 7:00pm at the Southside Aquatic Centre Meeting Room (315 Finkle Street, Woodstock).
